How You Can Help

Pray! Donate! Volunteer!

Please pray for our guest families, the more than 50 volunteers that serve each host week, and the overall mission of Family Promise.

We need many items ranging from diapers to toiletries to food supplies. Financial donations are used for host week expenses and to purchase items for families moving into their own housing. Please contact the appropriate volunteer coordinator listed below to get our complete list and help us care for our guest families. Your donations are appreciated!

There are many ways individuals, groups and families can get involved – all ages, abilities and availabilities are welcome! This is real-time, real-world Christian outreach at its best. The life you touch could be your own. Contact the appropriate volunteer coordinator listed below to see where you would like to help out.

Volunteer opportunities include:
Overnight host, dinner/hospitality host, set up and take down room teams, van drivers, tutor, day center office volunteer.
Overnight and dinner hospitality hosts are required to attend a one time mandatory host orientation.

Family Promise Host Volunteer trainings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Family Promise Day Center on the property of St. James Episcopal, from 7-9 pm. If we do not have four people signed up  we will cancel the training. Please have volunteers contact or Camilla at 404-556-5465. Trainers may also be scheduled to provide training at your congregation if needed.

If you are volunteering or plan to volunteer at any point in the future, please email David Brigham at or email Joy Jones at or leave a note in the Family Promise mailbox outside of the church office.
