The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
The vision of Mt. Zion UMC is: Making a Difference Loving, Caring Serving
The Adult Learning Cluster desires to educate and equip people for a lifelong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
"give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back."
Mt. Zion' announces free COVID-19 testing, on a drive-thru basis (registration required), on Wednesday, August 5, 9:00 am to Noon. This is a community event and all are welcome. The event is sponsored by Wellstar Health Systems along with Mt. Zion UMC, Boy Scout Troop 795 and Mt. Zion Girl Scouts. The Boy Scouts will be directing traffic and Girl Scouts will be welcoming participants with signs and socially distanced greetings.
Testing will be for the active virus only, using the nasal swap method.
Anyone interested in antibody testing can have that done, free of charge, when they donate blood at the Mt. Zion Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, August 3. See the separate event page for that event.
COVID-19 Testing Registration link will be posted here when it is available.
We need 12 volunteers (4 per hour) to assist with questions and help hand out safety kits which will be placed in the trunk of the participant's vehicle.
Wellstar nurses will be the only persons doing the testing. Wellstar team members will also register anyone who shows up without pre-registration. So as a Mt. Zion volunteer, you are simply there to answer questions from a distance, and place safety kits in the vehicles.
This is a “touch free” event with social distancing and masks required. Volunteers will meet at the church at 8:00 am on August 5th for training, N95 masks and gloves and breakfast from Chick-fil-A will be provided .
We are only seeking adult volunteers and please, if you or a loved one are at risk, do not volunteer.
Please contact Ray Bridenbaugh if you have any questions about volunteering or if you want to sign up
