United Methodist Men exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man’s life. Men’s ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and to effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ.
The Goals of the UMM are:
- Encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of the United Methodist Church.
- Engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions.
- Clarify and speak to the identity and role of the man in contemporary society.
- Seek commitment to discipleship.
- Study and become familiar with the United Methodist Church, its organization, doctrines and beliefs.
- Cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction and church- wide goals.
The UMM provides support to the following Missions & Service Projects:
- "Golf For His Glory" is our annual golf tournament each May that is sponsored by the Mt. Zion United Methodist Men and other volunteers from Mt. Zion. This tournament is an outreach event for men and women to come together and enjoy a great day of golf and fellowship! A prayer breakfast and a speaker from the world of sports are featured before play begins. Proceeds benefit local missions, global missions and the Mt. Zion Youth.
