The Mt. Zion UMC Youth Sports Ministry is Christ-centered and has been dedicated to helping boys and girls enjoy fun sports, improve their skills, and grow in a safe environment since 1987. The Youth Sports Ministry staff is highly experienced in managing youth sports and ministering to children and youth. Christ-centered devotions are shared for each activity.
Hoops2Heaven Summer League - Players are grouped by age and skill level. The effective date for age participation is June 1, 2013. Email email@example.com for more information.
You will have two practices and/or games on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays for ages 6-14 – two per week. The Hoops2Heaven summer season runs from early June through late July with breaks during the week of VBS June 17-20 and July 1-3. Our flexible schedule accommodates your neighborhood swim team schedule by allowing you to participate on the two nights that you do not swim.
Hoops2Heaven/Basketball Dreams Morning Camps (Mon. thru Thurs. 9:30 am - 12:30 pm) - This exciting camp includes Converse basketball shoes and awards for each participant!

Dan is the coordinator of the ministry that he began in 1989 with the Hoops2Heaven ministry. He has coordinated, directed, and coached in the youth sports ministry for the past 23 years and brings a wealth of experience in working with coaches and young people.
D. J. is a member of Mt. Zion UMC. Her children played in the first years of the Hoops2Heaven ministry. She brings talent and enthusiasm to our team from her experience with East Cobb soccer programs, as a former Cobb County teacher, and her involvement with the Mt. Zion UMC Youth Sports Ministry.
Chrissy is a high school soccer coach at Cherokee Count HS. She played soccer for four years at Auburn University and was a star basketball and soccer player at Pope HS. She has directed our summer program the past two years and has been a fantastic addition to our staff!
